Do the BEST YOU!

This is a continuation of my post called “Do You Know You?”  In that post, we discussed interviewing yourself to understand who you are, so that you can identify the best opportunities for you.  Now that you know who you are, you need to do the best YOU!

How many times have you been in a situation and people expect you to change?  Sometimes these people have the misconception that you need to modify yourself because the situation has changed.  This can be true in some instances, but this change should not involve the following:

1.  Compromising your values

2.  Doing something that is ethically incorrect

3.  Behaving in a manner to contradict your better judgement

Never compromise yourself for any of these three elements.  The situation that you are in is temporary.  Your values and beliefs are permanent.  Putting these to the side even for a moment will lead to a lifetime of regret and self-doubt (you will no longer know who you are in times of challenge.)

So move on and do you.  Don’t just do you, DO THE BEST YOU!

Have you been in a situation that requested that you compromise you?  How did you handle it?  Did you change the situation or did the situation change you?
