The Leadership Circle

Every leader faces tough decisions every day – from trying to maintain actions that do not exceed the budget, to a parent deciding what the family should eat for dinner – these decisions need to be made.  It makes it more tough when we try to make these decisions all the time alone.

The best solution to keep from getting overwhelmed – form a Leadership Circle or Circle of Trust.  This circle should include a limited number of people, people you can trust in difficult times.

This circle serves these functions:

1.  Provide advice on difficult decisions

2.  Serve as a sounding board when you have multiple decisions.

3.  Serve as your conscience when faced with what is right versus what is best.

Ever effective leader has this circle (hence why the The President of the United States always has Senior Advisors.)

Identify who this person or people who can serve this function for you.  They are not difficult to find as they have already been positioned in this capacity already.
