Your Example Matters

Leading by example is an overused term…but it is an accurate overused term. Your people will do as you do…If you are detailed oriented, your team will strive for detail. If you are a yeller, your team will do the same. Be mindful of your reactions and behaviors when people are involved.

Remember these key steps:
1. Is my behavior for short term gain, or is there a long term affect (positive or negative)?
2. Does my behavior improve or degrade the situation?
3. Am I proud if my team members behave exactly like me.
